The Oxford Collection announced the grand opening of Hotel Katerina, a sleek and stylish addition to its portfolio of boutique hotels across the West Coast. Located at 1930 Baney Lane, this four-story establishment features 112 rooms that blend modern comfort with the signature hospitality for which the Oxford Collection is renowned.
As the third hotel in the Oxford Collection, which includes the award-winning Oxford Hotel Bend in Oregon and the historic Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle, Hotel Katerina signifies a new era for Northern California’s lodging scene. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the region’s equestrian heritage, featuring rich leather accents, classic black-and-white tiles, and carefully curated artwork that captures a timeless California lifestyle.
Guests can indulge in a unique culinary experience at Rancher’s Daughter, the hotel’s signature restaurant, which offers a fresh take on California cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. The menu, approachable yet elevated, celebrates the region’s agricultural roots in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Adding to the hotel’s charm is a luxurious rooftop bar, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the foothills. The rooftop setting is perfect for enjoying hand-crafted cocktails and a curated wine list, making it an ideal spot for romantic evenings or lively gatherings with friends and family.
For those planning special events, Hotel Katerina boasts over 5,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space—the largest in Chico. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, customizable catering options from Rancher’s Daughter, and a dedicated events team, every gathering promises to be seamless and memorable.
Spanning more than 83,000 square feet, the hotel is designed for comfort and connection. Guests will find spacious King and Two-Queen suites, an outdoor pool and hot tub, a fitness center, a sauna, and a steam room. The lobby features a lounge designed for both productivity and relaxation, while unique in-room amenities like Crosley turntables with curated vinyl records and Fellow pour-over kits with locally roasted Stoble Coffee enhance the guest experience.
Hotel Katerina is committed to supporting the local community, as expressed by owner Curt Baney. “We’ve spent years planning and dreaming about what this property could bring to Chico,” Baney stated. “Hotel Katerina reflects the values we hold dear: exceptional service, thoughtful design, and deep ties to the communities we serve.”
With the successful launch of Hotel Katerina, the Oxford Collection now boasts 17 properties across Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho, each offering a unique experience that complements its surroundings while maintaining an unwavering focus on remarkable guest service.
