Mitsubishi Motors has announced significant enhancements to its 2026 model-year lineup, reaffirming its dedication to quality, value, and durability in every vehicle. Key highlights include an updated Outlander Plug-in Hybrid and the introduction of a new mild-hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain in the Outlander, underscoring the brand’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
The 2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid is set to impress with a mid-cycle refresh that showcases a redesigned interior emphasizing sound-deadening features and high-quality materials. New amenities include heated and cooled front seats, a revamped center console with improved storage, and a state-of-the-art Yamaha® audio system, exclusive to the U.S. market. Exterior updates feature a revised grille, new bumper design, and striking 20-inch wheels.
Under the hood, the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has received a larger-capacity drive battery, which will enhance all-electric range and improve on-road performance. The vehicle’s steering and ride quality have also been fine-tuned for a more confident driving experience, making it a pioneer as the world’s first plug-in hybrid electric SUV.
Additionally, the 2026 Outlander will feature a brand-new engine—a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline unit, complemented by Mitsubishi’s inaugural mild-hybrid system. This change enhances off-the-line acceleration and improves drivability.
The Outlander lineup is filled with new offerings, including the LE trim, which slots between the entry-level ES and mid-grade SE, alongside a top-of-the-line SEL Black Edition and the return of the sought-after Ralliart model.
For the Eclipse Cross, changes in 2026 are minimal, with enhancements like the standard inclusion of the “Eclipse Cross” hood badging on SEL models, ensuring the compact SUV remains a strong contender in its segment. The model retains its sharp design and all-wheel drive system, providing a reliable platform for various driving conditions.
Lastly, the 2026 Outlander Sport, designed with family-friendly features and an affordable price point, continues to offer exceptional value. With its standard All-Wheel Control system and modern integrations, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Outlander Sport remains a popular choice among budget-conscious consumers.
Pricing and detailed specifications for all models will be announced later this year, with the Outlander family set to debut in early 2026, followed closely by the rest of the lineup. Mitsubishi Motors is on track to fulfill its five-year business plan, Momentum 2030, promising new or significantly updated vehicles each year.
Stay tuned for more updates as Mitsubishi Motors rolls out its exciting new offerings for 2026.
