The Wagoneer, known for its powerful performance and unique style, has once again secured the top position among large SUVs in terms of retaining its value for two consecutive years, as per the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards. Two other vehicles from the Stellantis brand, Jeep Wrangler and Ram ProMaster, are also expected to have a better value retention rate than their competitors. These awards are highly regarded in the automotive industry and provide an estimate of the percentage of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price that a vehicle is likely to retain after a period of three years of ownership.
“This repeat distinction demonstrates Wagoneer is more than a trailblazer for cutting-edge innovation and style,” says U.S. Head of Sales Jeff Kommor. “Wagoneer consistently delivers that most fundamental requirement of a sales transaction – lasting value for the customer. And that’s something we will never lose sight of.”
For the year 2024, Wagoneer is expanding the availability of its acclaimed Hurricane I-6 family by offering the 420-horsepower engine as standard equipment across all model lines. With its peak torque of 468 lb.-ft, the Wagoneer boasts a best-in-class, 10,000-pound tow rating.
In addition to its impressive power, the Wagoneer offers a comfortable and spacious interior, with best-in-class overall passenger volume (179.2 cu. ft./5.1 cu. m.), second-row legroom (42.7 cu. ft./1.08 cu. m.), and third-row legroom (36.6 cu. ft./0.93 cu. m.).
J.D. Power has named the Jeep Wrangler as the top performer among off-road utility vehicles in its annual residual value awards, highlighting the vehicle’s long-term quality and design, as well as the overall desirability of the Jeep brand and its models. This underscores the importance of value retention in determining the lease cost of a vehicle.
The 2024 Wrangler has been refreshed with larger tires, more ground clearance, and improved traction. It also features exclusive amenities and technology, such as the Sky One-Touch power top, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, and a best-in-class 12.3-inch touchscreen radio with Uconnect 5 and standard wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto compatibility.
For added safety, first- and second-row side-curtain airbags are now standard equipment.
“This year, we celebrated the delivery of our five-millionth Jeep Wrangler,” Kommor says of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition delivered to a customer in Camden, New Jersey.
Notably, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe models have won a residual value award. Since Q2 2021, the Jeep Wrangler has been the best-selling plug-in hybrid in America.
“You don’t resonate that well in the marketplace without understanding the value equation,” Kommor adds.
Ram ProMaster has been named the commercial van with the highest residual value among all the vans presented by Stellantis this year. In 2024, Ram is planning to introduce new amenities for its full-size van, including a heated steering wheel, heated windshield, and ParkSense with Stop. The ParkSense system includes ultrasonic sensors that detect stationary objects when the van is in reverse at low speeds. If the sensors detect an imminent collision, the system will provide a momentary autonomous brake pulse to avoid the collision.
Says Kommor: “Factor in its best-in-class cargo volume and payload and ProMaster is the thoroughbred of workhorses.”
