The 2025 Oscars, also known as the 97th Academy Awards, will take place on Sunday, March 2nd at Dolby Theater in LA. This years show will be hosted for the first time by Conan O’Brien. This years Oscars will honor films that were released in 2024.
There are 23 categories for awards at this years Oscars, but it’s the main categories such as Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, and a few others that garner the majority of media attention. Below let’s take a look at the favorites for each popular category using odds from a popular online betting site.
If you’re interested in betting on the Oscars this year I suggest visiting BetOnIt.org. They have a few different Oscars betting guides available depending on your location with simple 3 step tutorials you can follow.
Best Picture
- Anora -300
- The Brutalist +400
- Conclave +500
Anora is the favorite to win Best Picture, but it’s far from a done deal, with both The Brutalist and Conclave having short enough odds to be considered contenders in this category. The Brutalist won the Golden Globe earlier this year in the Drama category, while Anora was beaten out by Emilia Perez in the musical/comedy category for the Golden Globe.
Best Actor
- Adrien Brody (The Brutalist) -290
- Timothee Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) +185
The Best Actor category is a two-horse race between Adrien Brody and Timothee Chalamet. Adrien Brody won the Golden Globe a couple months ago.
Best Actress
- Demi Moore (The Substance) -150
- Mikey Madison (Anora) +100
- Fernanda Torres (I’m Still Here) +900
Demi Moore and Mikey Madison are battling it out for Best Actress, but Fernanda Torres has to be mentioned as an outside contender. Torres won the Golden Globe in the Drama category, while Demi Moore won in the Musical/Comedy category.
Best Director
- Sean Baker (Anora) -160
- Brady Corbet (The Brutalist) +100
Another two-person battle is in the Best Director category where Sean Baker and Brady Corbet are neck and neck. Anora and The Brutalist are highly touted this year as can be seen by them as the favorites for both Best Picture and Best Director.
Best Supporting Actor
- Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) -2500
Here’s a category where we don’t even need to give the odds of the other contenders. According to the odds Kieran Culkin basically has the Best Supporting Actor award in the bag.
Best Supporting Actress
- Zoe Saldana (Emilia Perez) -1600
- Ariana Grande (Wicked) +550
Zoe Saldana also looks to have Best Supporting Actress locked up, but I couldn’t not post the odds of Ariana Grande who seems to be an outside contender in this category.
