In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, country newcomer Valerie Ponzio releases her debut EP FRONTERA across all digital streaming platforms. The four-track project features three original songs as well as a traditional country cover of Latina icon Selena’s “I Could Fall In Love.” Drawing inspiration from her hometown pride and bringing awareness to the culture of border (frontera) towns, Ponzio continues to prove she is “dedicated to broadening the boundaries of country music and helping pave the way into the genre for other Latin artists” (CMT.com). As part of the inaugural class of CMT and mtheory’s Equal Access program, her new video for “Desert Rain,” also out today, will be highlighted in NYC’s Times Square. The video, directed by Raul Hernandez and shot in El Paso, TX, showcases a picturesque desert landscape with striking scenes of Ponzio expressing the lyrics to the emotional track.
