When talking about rugby in the UAE, it is necessary to mention the name of the sports coach and nutritionist Tomás Young, the young Irishman who is currently supervising the training of the active RAK Rugby team in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.
Tomás, who is fond of rugby, is considered one of the most active people in this sport in the Arab world, and he was the reason for the professionalization of a large number of players in it through the practical and technical experience he provides them with.

And about rugby, Tomás said: “I started playing rugby and other sports as well at the age of seven, but of all the sports, rugby has been my favorite since the first day I played it. What made it so distinguished in my opinion is the principle of companionship that develops over time with your fellow clubmates. In which you play, as if you are in your family, no matter what club you play in. The values that you develop in yourself as a person are like psychological training to be a better person, for example, in a match that lasts for eighty minutes, you end the match and you are full of physical injuries and you are very exhausted, and you may be there Losses and crowding, but in the end, you go to the opponent you played with and greet him with affection. In my opinion, the most important thing we learn in rugby as adults or children is good dealing”.

And they are the future of rugby in the Middle East. Tomás continued his speech by saying: “Being the coach of the Ras Al Khaimah RAK Rugby club, I want to develop the game as much as possible in the emirate. In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there are many rugby clubs, but in Ras Al Khaimah there is only one club, so I want to develop This club is in the most successful form and to highlight this sport here as well among the people, and this will attract the attention of many players to us, and thus the interest of many in this special sport.”
