The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. has collaborated with artist partner Louis-Nicolas Darbon to create a series of travel posters that celebrate the brand’s enduring association with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. The hotel chain has a rich history of giving back to society through its Community Footprints program. The proceeds from the sale of the posters will be donated to Sutton Trust through this program. Community Footprints is The Ritz-Carlton’s program that focuses on social and environmental responsibility, guided by the principles of engagement, contribution, and inspiration. Its objective is to make a positive impact on children’s well-being and alleviate hunger and poverty.
“The Ritz-Carlton has a long history of giving back,” commented Jenni Benzaquen, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis. “As we continue to expand our relationship with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, we are proud to support their partner, Sutton Trust, and its commitment to championing social mobility.”
Louis-Nicolas Darbon, the artist partner of The Ritz-Carlton brand, has created a series of canvas travel posters. In addition to this, he has also created two portraits of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers, namely Sir Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The canvas travel posters are inspired by iconic cities from the 2022 season, which include Miami, Montreal, Mexico City, Melbourne, Budapest, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi. These travel posters are available in two formats, an original canvas and a limited edition print. The original canvas is sized at 90 cm x 120 cm and is signed by Toto Wolff, Sir Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell. The limited edition print, on the other hand, is sized at 76 cm x 101 cm, and only 10 prints will be available for each of the travel posters. The original canvas paintings are priced at $13,000 each, while the limited edition prints are priced at $3,000 each. The two portraits of the drivers are also signed by the respective driver and are priced at $25,000 each.
Louis-Nicolas Darbon is a London-based artist who is primarily known for his portraits of iconic figures. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with solo shows in cities such as London, Mexico City, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Bangkok, and more.
“We are delighted to have been able to introduce our partners at The Ritz-Carlton to one of our Accelerate 25 partners, the Sutton Trust,” commented Paul Mills, Chief People Officer, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. “The Sutton Trust achieves fantastic work and results with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and being able to contribute to their ongoing success through the proceeds of the Travel Poster series is a great example of how our partnerships can work together to help us achieve our aim of a more diverse and inclusive team and sport.”
The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team launched Accelerate 25 program in December 2020. This initiative aims to make the team more diverse and inclusive over the next five years. The team believes that an inclusive culture fosters innovation and creativity, leading to better performance on and off the track. The team has partnered with Sutton Trust, an educational charity that helps young people from non-privileged backgrounds to access university and career opportunities and improve social mobility.
The Ritz-Carlton is set to unveil a series of travel posters on October 27 at a private event in Mexico City. The posters were inspired by the Grand Prix destinations worldwide, and their vibrant colors, culture, and backdrops. The launch event will include a celebration of music, cocktails, art, and entertainment to enliven the senses. You can purchase the posters and canvases at travelposterseries.com.
