Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc will participate in AWE USA 2023, the world’s top XR conference, held from May 31 to June 2 in Santa Clara, CA for the first time. Their new project, “Project PV,” will be unveiled, with the aim of creating innovative forms of entertainment and value by bringing physical objects into the virtual world, in line with the theme, “From Physical to Virtual.”
At booth #938 in AWE, Sony Music is presenting an innovative demo that showcases how physical objects can be transformed into digital data using 3D scan technology. This technology allows for the display of 3D objects in a metaverse and enables users to engage in conversations with others within the metaverse. The demo is a first-time experience for participating XR professionals. In addition, Sony Music is showcasing “WIDAR,” a 3D photogrammetry app developed by WOGO, inc, as an example of a mobile-based 3D scan solution.
As an example of a mobile-based 3D scanning solution, Project PV is actively seeking opportunities for collaboration with professionals, companies, and organizations that possess entertainment IP, online platforms, or various technologies that can be applied to their efforts.
