Sharing who you are, what you stand for, and what you like should be easy — Queer Chameleon hopes to help you do that through their brand, apparel, and accessories.
Together in February 2021, Megan Corrieri and Jenn DeSantis began what they hope will be known as a company that inspires and empowers the Queer community. Through their apparel, products, and other accessories, they aspire to bring the Queer Community and allies a place to easily purchase creative and carefully curated products or gifts. All designs and items are created and researched to ensure that Queer Chameleon is always providing thoughtful and meaningful products.
While the majority of products and items created and sold by the brand are inspired by and meant to inspire the Queer Community, they also offer a line of products created by a community that inspires them. The Black Lives Matter line offers designs created exclusively by Black artists. Ten percent of the profits from the BLM line and the rest of Queer Chameleon are donated to various LGBTQ+ and BLM nonprofits every single month.
When you enter their space, either from their official website or Etsy shop, you will find a substantial variety of apparel, homeware, drinkware and accessories. If you are looking for a creative and Queer-centered greeting card or print, be sure to check out their Etsy shop. They offer an extremely wide selection of colorful designs — something for everyone.
The company aims to support Queer and Black artists not only through the products they sell. While Queer Chameleon currently sells their products online, they are aware that certain aspects of a brick-and-mortar shop can help support different kinds of artists. While they do not currently have a space to play music while customers shop, they do not want their patrons to miss out on hearing music created by a variety of LGBTQ+ artists and allies. They have a thoughtfully curated playlist on Spotify (Spotify) that those who are wanting to show their support in other ways can use to do so.
The clothes and products that we buy and who we buy them from say a lot about us – whether we realize it or not. You can easily make a statement or share a message by wearing apparel with that message printed across the front. However, you can also make a statement with slightly more subtle purchases. Even if your shirt does not say outright what you stand for, the producer or creator you purchased it from does. Queer Chameleon provides products that proudly boast support for the Queer and Black communities. But, they also allow you to provide support to those communities simply through the purchase of a product. Their tight-knit involvement with nonprofits and artists ensures that they, the creator, and you, the customer, are able to put your money where your mouth is.
