Saifuzzaman has accumulated more than 15 years of experience across IT, telecommunications, and project management while playing a crucial role in Bangladesh’s digital transformation. During his tenure at BEXIMCO Group, Saifuzzaman participated in developing the country’s cybersecurity framework for its inaugural internet services, which provided security solutions to INGOs, embassies, banks, universities, hospitals, IT firms, DTH providers, telecom operators, and more. The Smart-Upazila (Sub-District) Wi-Fi security project was among the initiatives he worked on to boost public internet security.
Through his work on technology, culture, and community development, Mohammad Saifuzzaman has garnered worldwide recognition as a cybersecurity expert and AI researcher. He continues his academic pursuits as a resident of the United States. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in cybersecurity and information assurance at the University of Central Missouri. He is doing very well in school and is actively involved in advanced research in cybersecurity, AI, and project management. His work is currently under consideration for publication by two well-known journals. Saifuzzaman served as Project Coordinator for Bangladesh’s first private sector DTH service, during which he implemented the initial Satellite Earth Station for Downlink and uplink, as well as the Data Center. He took an active role in building both technical and business models, which enabled the service to launch under the RealVU branding before it transformed into Akash DTH/Akash Digital TV.
He has established a successful career in Bangladesh’s tech and telecom sectors by consistently leading innovation efforts. He began his career at Citycell, the first mobile operator in Bangladesh, which held exclusive rights to CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) and EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) technologies during the country’s development of mobile communication. He joined QUBEE to help introduce Bangladesh’s first WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) service, which expanded wireless broadband connectivity nationwide. He currently works at BEXIMCO IT Division, which has established itself as one of the first providers of dial-up and broadband internet services in Bangladesh. His most notable accomplishment at AKASH Digital TV (formerly known as “Akash DTH” and “RealVU”) involved leading the launch of the country’s first Direct-to-Home satellite TV service in Bangladesh. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to embracing new technologies while creating substantial transformations in the IT, telecom, and satellite industries.
His area of expertise encompasses digital forensics, penetration testing, risk assessment, and the development of secure IT infrastructure. His certifications consist of CompTIA Security+ and Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, USA, as well as Google Certified IT Support Professional. Saifuzzaman earned his Certificate in Application Development and Network Management from Tata Consultancy Services in Delhi through a Fulbright scholarship granted by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. The company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) selected Saifuzzaman as their Brand Ambassador for Bangladesh due to his outstanding achievements.
His professional growth involved specialized educational programs in project management, digital marketing, leadership, business, and communication skills, which he completed at U.S. and Bangladeshi institutions, including Johnson County Community College in Kansas and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the University of Dhaka.
From a young age, Saifuzzaman devoted himself to cultural advocacy work. He shows expertise through his guitar playing and drumming abilities, as well as his ability to perform rock and folk songs. At the same time, he edits student literary magazines and produces documentary films. His cultural organizational role, combined with his success in social media video blogging, enabled him to disseminate essential social information to the public. His athletic roots include football, cricket, and other sports.
His humanitarian work is equally commendable. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Saifuzzaman became the lead volunteer in Bangladesh, coordinating life-saving aid and support for families impacted by the crisis, while also creating two award-winning documentaries on autism awareness. Through his volunteer activities, he finds time for educational programs that help children and creates cultural initiatives that offer creative learning opportunities to disadvantaged youth.
Saifuzzaman has traveled extensively across the world, visiting the United States, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and India for education, training, scholarships, conferences, and cultural exploration, which has broadened his professional and global understanding.
Saifuzzaman was born and grew up in Dhaka City, the capital of Bangladesh, where his family’s ancestry originated from Nawabganj and Keraniganj Upazilas within the Dhaka District. His father, Mohammad Farman Ali, was a late businessman who held a respected position in his community as a philanthropist. His mother, Shamsun Nahar, descended from the Bhuiyan family of Keraniganj, Dhaka. His American-based younger brother works as a lead software engineer at a top-reputed company in the United States, and his younger sister works in banking; both are excellent illustrations of how his family has consistently performed well in all aspects.
