Mazda North American Operations reported its February 2026 U.S. sales results, highlighting continued strength in crossover SUVs and growing consumer demand for electrified models.
According to the company, total February sales reached 33,538 vehicles, up 2.5 percent from February 2025. Year-to-date sales through the end of February totaled 67,219 vehicles, up 6.7 percent versus the same period last year.
CX Lineup Continues to Drive Growth
Mazda’s crossover SUV portfolio remained the primary growth engine for the brand. The three-row Mazda CX-90 posted strong results, benefiting from continued demand for larger family vehicles. The Mazda CX-50 and Mazda CX-5 also contributed significantly to overall volume.
The company reported that its light truck segment, which includes crossovers and SUVs, accounted for the majority of total sales in February. This aligns with broader U.S. consumer preferences for utility vehicles over traditional sedans.
Electrified Models Show Strong Gains
Electrified vehicles, including mild hybrid, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid variants, represented 18.7 percent of Mazda’s total February sales. The electrified mix continues to rise as consumers look for fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance or driving dynamics.
The plug-in hybrid version of the CX-90 remains a focal point in Mazda’s strategy to expand its electrified offerings while maintaining the brand’s emphasis on driving engagement.
Sports Car Icon Remains a Staple
While SUVs dominate volume, the Mazda MX-5 Miata continues to serve as a halo vehicle for the brand, reinforcing Mazda’s performance heritage and enthusiast appeal.
Outlook for 2026
Mazda’s steady early-year gains reflect both sustained consumer demand and the company’s disciplined inventory management strategy. With additional product updates expected later in the year, the brand aims to build on its momentum in the competitive U.S. automotive market.
As automakers navigate shifting economic conditions and evolving consumer preferences, Mazda’s diversified lineup of crossovers, electrified options, and performance models positions the company for continued growth in 2026.
