Impact Security, LLC based in Marietta, Ga., announced that it has acquired MTI Shield, LLC. of Glendale, Arizona, in an all-stock deal. Additional financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Impact Security is a manufacturer of specialty security glass and glazing systems, sold under the DefenseLite® and BulletShield™ tradenames. MTI Shield is a manufacturing company specializing in custom engineered glass and glazing systems. MTI Shield had been a licensed fabricator for Impact Security since 2019, serving the western half of the United States.
Impact Security holds multiple patents and serves the retail, commercial building, municipal and governmental markets with custom-engineered retrofit glazing systems. Its DefenseLite and BulletShield products offer forced entry protection as well as windstorm, ballistic attack, and blast protection. In addition to enhancing the personal safety and well-being of employees and customers, these efforts are also a critical tool in ongoing struggles such as loss prevention efforts and campus security while also insulating for energy conservation and sound reduction.
Jeff Franson, who has functioned as President of Impact Security since 2016, will step aside and welcome Mark Mineer to the leadership role. “We couldn’t be happier with this next step in our company story. It truly is a classic example of two organizations recognizing the potential strength of combining into a single operating unit. The businesses and cultures complement each other very well and the synergies will power a more efficient, lower cost and innovative environment that will be a benefit for customers, employees, and shareholders. We will get to market faster, with better products at a lower cost. Everyone wins.
“An engineer by trade, Mark has all the tools needed to fuel the next stage of growth for Impact. He is an innovator and a true business operator who is passionate about Impact’s core mission of protecting people and property from criminal acts such as smash-and-grab and active shooter attacks. I look forward to working alongside Mark and doing whatever is needed to help him and the Impact team succeed.”
While leading at MTI Shield, Mineer has been instrumental in the evolution of the DefenseLite and BulletShield product lines. An expert in cellular manufacturing processes, Mineer built a modern production facility that transformed the business opportunity and provided for exponential capacity to meet the demands of a rapidly developing market for security and energy retrofit glazing systems.
“I am honored by the opportunity to lead Impact Security as the company looks to the future,” said Mark Mineer. “Since its inception, Impact has revolutionized the world of retrofit glazing systems. We will continue that legacy as we move forward.”
Prior to launching MTI Shield, Mineer was Founder and CEO of Metro Tint of Glendale, Arizona. For almost 30 years, Mineer had been known throughout the architectural window film industry as a top performer. Mineer is responsible for thousands of successful installations of specialty glazing products throughout the US.
