At just 19, Samuel L. Pierce has built what many only dream of, an independent film company creating feature-length movies with big-studio ambition and homegrown grit.
When Samuel L. Pierce founded Electric Shock Productions in 2019, he wasn’t waiting for Hollywood to open its doors. He was still a teenager with a camera, a handful of friends, and an unwavering conviction: if you want to make something real, start now.
“I started Electric Shock Productions on one simple idea,” Pierce says. “Don’t wait for other people to give you your chance, make your own. You can’t sit around waiting for the right time or the right people to give you permission. You just have to start.”
That idea, once just the rallying cry of a fearless teenager, has since become the foundation of a growing film brand known for ambition, originality, and pure creative drive.
From Curiosity to Calling
Pierce’s passion for film took root early. “I was the type of kid who would watch a movie and immediately start wondering how it was made,” he recalls. By first grade, he was already tinkering with cameras and editing clips. A few years later, a dedicated media teacher in fourth grade encouraged him to take that spark seriously. “That’s when everything changed,” he says. “I started writing scripts, full-length stories I wanted to see come to life, and I knew this was what I wanted to do with my life.”
What began as a childhood obsession became a lifelong pursuit of visual storytelling, blending creativity with resourcefulness. In the early days, Electric Shock Productions was little more than a few friends shooting passion projects with minimal gear. “We didn’t have much equipment or experience, but we had ambition,” Pierce says. “Every project was a learning experience, and every mistake was a step forward.”
Building from the Ground Up
The company’s first major milestone came with The Future of Us, a project that evolved almost accidentally from a short film into a full-length feature. “It didn’t even start out as a feature,” Pierce explains. “It began as a short, then a web series, and before I knew it, we were looking at a full-length movie.”
Pierce not only wrote and directed the film but also starred in it. “It took long hours and a lot of trial and error, but I loved every second of it. That project changed everything. It proved that with enough drive and focus, you can make something real from nothing.”
That momentum carried into The Get Rich Quick Scheme, a spirited 1980s-style comedy filmed during a sweltering summer. “We gave up our vacations to make it,” he laughs. “It was hot, chaotic, and exhausting, but also one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had on a set.” The project taught him how to balance directing and acting while keeping production on track under challenging conditions.

Then came Off The Line, the 2025 sporting drama about speed skating that marked a creative and technical leap forward. Pierce played lead character Mark Stevenson, a professional athlete grappling with pressure, purpose, and redemption. “The skating sequences were incredibly complex,” he says. “Capturing the emotion and adrenaline of that world was unlike anything we’d done before. It pushed me as a filmmaker and performer, and it really elevated our production quality.”

Scaling Up: The Ambition Behind Jack Harrison: Rogue Protocol
Today, Electric Shock Productions is putting the finishing touches on its biggest project yet: Jack Harrison: Rogue Protocol, a large-scale sci-fi action feature currently in post-production.
“It’s ambitious, high-energy, and technically demanding,” Pierce says. “Every part of this film—from the design to the effects to the sound, represents how much we’ve grown as a company.”
He describes the film as a milestone, one that embodies everything Electric Shock stands for: creative risk, technical innovation, and relentless self-improvement. “We’re not just trying to make movies, we’re trying to make better movies, every single time.”
The company also has several other projects in various stages of development, including a new TV series that Pierce can’t yet reveal details about. “What I can say,” he teases, “is that it’s something that expands the kind of stories we tell and challenges us to reach new levels of production.”
Philosophy of Progress
At the heart of Pierce’s career, and the company he leads, is a clear personal philosophy: never stop improving.
“Launching and leading a production company at a young age has been an education in creativity and management,” he says. “It required learning to lead teams, make critical decisions under pressure, and adapt quickly. Those experiences shaped my leadership style: disciplined, problem-solving, and focused on long-term vision.”
He believes that every project, regardless of scale or success, is a chance to evolve. “You have to truly never give up and always push yourself past what you think you’re capable of. The only way to grow is to do better than you can, every single time.”
A Brand Defined by Action
Electric Shock Productions has become more than just an indie film banner; it’s a symbol of self-made artistry and grassroots ambition. Its ethos is built on action, independence, and results.
“We’ve proven that it’s possible to make professional, feature-length films through planning, creative resourcefulness, and a strong team,” Pierce reflects. “Every project we take on is designed to raise the bar higher than the last.”
What started as a teenager’s experiment has become a disciplined operation grounded in storytelling, collaboration, and continuous growth. “Electric Shock Productions operates with a forward-looking, results-oriented mindset,” Pierce says. “We don’t wait for permission to create; we just do it.”
Looking Ahead
For Pierce, the journey of Electric Shock Productions is only beginning. The lessons learned through each challenge, technical, creative, or financial, have built not just a company, but a culture of resilience.
“Our goal is to keep expanding the scope of what we can do,” he says. “More genres, more stories, more innovation. We’re building a company that’s meant to last.”
As for what drives him after years of nonstop production? The answer is simple: growth. “Each project is a stepping stone,” he says. “We’re not chasing perfection, we’re chasing progress. That’s the heart of what Electric Shock Productions is all about.”
