It started in 2004 as a one-truck operation: one truck, one trailer. In the last seventeen years, Favel Transportation has seen ebbs and flows in its growth. The transportation company saw an increase to ninety trailers at one point but has scaled back to thirty trailers at present.
Kyle Favel, the owner, and founder of Favel Transport says, “We’ve grown with the economy, we’ve shrunk with the economy, and we’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way.”
Favel Transportation’s business model is unique. Their journey has been one of organic growth and that is something that the company values.
“I think it reflects well on the culture we are creating here at Favel Transportation, every day is a new day, and we have to choose to rise up to our ideals,” says Kyle Favel.
Much of their business comes from client referrals or through employee advocacy.
Kyle Favel adds, “Our drivers travel across the length and breadth of continental North America and bring us leads and referrals from suppliers.”
Favel Transport has a very low turnover rate, which means that they retain most of their employees.
“We’re serious about keeping good quality people. Everyone in Favel Transport is allowed to participate in our retirement plan as well as our health and dental benefits plan,” informs Kyle Favel.
Safety is a major concern for Favel Transportation, the company runs safety audits on its trailers every three months to make sure that they’re roadworthy. While most companies might do so once every twelve months.
Kyle Favel says, “We never want to fall behind on due diligence in any aspect, especially not where the safety of our drivers and the valuable property of our customers is involved.”
“Safety is priority number one,” he adds.
Additionally, all of Favel Transportation’s trailers are five years old or newer. This state-of-the-art technology helps them keep their costs affordable for their customers.
“What sets us apart is the auto inflation systems we use on our tires to make sure that they are always inflated properly so that we don’t lose any downtime due to a flat tire,” adds Favel.
The company does not rely on cheap or recycled tires to cut costs and uses only top-tier tire brands to ensure reliable and timely deliveries.
“Our future goals and vision for Favel Transportation are to continue to grow the business organically. We’re seeing an influx of lots of new customers every year,” says Favel.
The company intends to expand its fleet by adding more high-quality employees, trailers, and trucks to its arsenal.
Favel Transportation is also looking to purchase other trucking companies through mergers and acquisitions to add to its capacity.
According to Favel, people will remain at the core of Favel Transportation.
He says, “We want to continue building a culture of people who want to succeed and do their best consistently.”
Favel believes that given their great core group, the company is set to strengthen the business and provide exceptional value to its customers.
