The highly anticipated SS26 edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week officially begins today, setting the stage for a week filled with innovative showcases, vibrant discussions, and a celebration of Nordic fashion.
The day commenced with a curated schedule featuring some of the most exciting brands from the region, following the elegant Bang & Olufsen commencement dinner held last night. This intimate affair welcomed the international guest program and set an inspiring tone for the days ahead.
Among today’s highlights is the inaugural talk titled “Fashion Pathways x The Soulfuls: Exploring Creative Careers.” Taking place at the iconic Verpan, designed by Verner Panton, this engaging panel discussion aims to shed light on diverse career paths within the fashion industry. Moderated by Aram Ostadian-Binai, Founder & CEO of The Soulfuls, the talk will feature prominent voices such as Jeanie Annan-Lewin from British Vogue, Navi Ahluwalia from Hypebae, and photographer Noor-u-Nisa Khan. Their insights will emphasize the importance of collaboration and mentoring, particularly for women entering the industry.
The Opening Reception, hosted at Nikolaj Kunsthal at 11:00 CEST, marks another highlight of the day. Attendees will gather to celebrate the onset of the fashion week, with a welcoming speech from Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week, followed by a keynote address from James Rothwell, Senior VP of Marketing at Zalando. Kicking off the showcase lineup is OpéraSport at 13:00 CEST, a brand founded by Stephanie Gundelach and Awa Malina Stelter. Their collection uniquely combines classic and contemporary aesthetics, embodying the essence of Copenhagen’s sporty edge. The day will also feature presentations from a variety of emerging talents, concluding with Caro Editions’ showcase late in the evening.
